Types of Snowboards
There are three main types of snowboards: Freeride, Freestyle, and Apline. A freeride snowboard is commonly used for beginners and leisure riding. It has a narrower, shorter, flatter tail with average stiffness and flexibility, which makes the board stable and easily maneuverable on the slopes. A freestyle snowboard is used for tricks such as jumps. It is wider and more stable and flexible. It has twin tips, which makes it possible to ride “backwards” or “goofy”. An Alpine is made for sharp turns, high speeds, and racing. The board is longer and narrower with increased stiffness, which helps keep the rider stable while carving at high speeds.
