Snurfing
In 1965 in the U.S. state of Michigan, a surfer named Sherman Poppen developed the very first "snurfer", or snow- surfer, as a way to entertain his daughter during the winter.. He tied two kids skis together in hopes that it would work on snow. Almost directly after, neighbors began asking for a model, and quickly the snurfer rose to popularity.
